Position of Project Assistant under the Project “Atmosphere carbondioxide sequestration through fertilization of a high-nutrients-low chlorophyll (HNLC) oceanic region with iron” in the National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa, initially for a period of ONE YEAR. Candidates satisfying the following requirements may attend the walk-in-interview on 11/09/08 long with their bio-data, attested copies of certificates in proof of qualification, age, experience and testimonials.
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc Marine Biotechnology/Microbiology from a recognized university with minimum of 55% marks on the aggregate at the qualifying exam. Two years research experience in microbial ecology is compulsory. Desirable : Experience in sea going & data processing and knowledge in report preparation.
Job Requirement: Bacteria DNA extraction from environmental samples, Phylogenetic analysis of bacteria, DGGE, Thymidine incorporation assay and Leucine assay.
